with Koen Darras
About this episode
Most people dream about crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Koen Darras wants to kitesurf across it. Yep, you read that correctly!
In this episode of Before Someday, we sit down with Belgian adventurer Koen Darras as he prepares for a world-first challenge: a 5,000-kilometre kitesurf crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. For 60 days, Koen will live between the ocean and a support vessel, relying on endurance, preparation and an extraordinary mindset to attempt something never done before.
But this isn’t only a story about adventure.
After travelling 45,000 kilometres through Africa, Koen was deeply affected by the number of people living without access to clean drinking water. His Atlantic crossing has become a mission to raise awareness and funding for clean water projects.
We talk about fear, preparation, purpose, family, risk, adventure, and what drives someone to chase a dream that most people would never dare attempt.
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when an impossible idea refuses to leave someone’s mind, this conversation is for you.
🎙️ Listen now and discover why some dreams are simply too important to ignore.
